if I'm level 40 but have done normal ancients but NOT normal baal. can I still be a bumper?

Yes. It's better you have ancients done in normal so it's faster for everyone else!

Yep, that is perfect. As long as you haven't cleared the normal Baal quest then yes you may still bump.
