Hello I will be sending someone 60$ on steam, I want to know the right way to go about it, I think we've almost been friends for 3 days... I think I seen somewhere that I should not do it with a digital gift card or something?

please if you have any knowledge share the step by step process to do it the right way, also is mediation allowed in this case? because I would really love that. let me know I guess

Hi ,

You may only trade Steam credit via Steam's gifting system, to be more specific, direct trading of serial and gift card codes are not allowed.

The best way to do a Steam credit trade is to have the user who started his/her iso topic request a mediator once he accepts your offer, you will be given step-by-step information on how to proceed with the trade and it's also the safest way to approach these type of trades as well as any supported trades conducted on the site.

For convenience sake, you may add the user first and wait out the 72 hours once he accepts your offer then have him request a mediator, note that the "request a mediator" button only appears for the person who posted the topic initially.

Feel free to contact me via PM if you have any questions in-regards, I'll be more than happy to walk you through the process!

I just want to add something to what mentioned.

If you plan on getting into the Steam / Battlenet trades, I have found that you may run into an error around being blocked from sending a steam virtual gift balance to another user. At first a lot of people think it has to do with their bank and/or paypal. I had this issue recently and I found out via Steam support ticket that Steam may put in a block after a few transactions if it's not something you've done regularly before. So just sharing from my experience if you run into a block where it doesn't let you send to a user even after those 72 hours, just submit a Steam ticket and request them to fix this and they will do so. :)

The aforementioned block usually happens only when one or both of the traders have their Steam Guard disabled, you've recently switched regions and/or your account is not in good standing i.e: your account is in dispute with a particular game because of faulty or fraudulent charges.
