Mobile hotspot doesn't have any IP masking/encrypting effects (unless using VPN on the phone you're putting up the hotspot with) so I'd be very surprised if it was forbidden here. I know a few people that are accessing d2jsp from a hotspot on a daily basis so you might want to recheck your hotspot settings.

Mobile hotspot IS encrypted. For OP, are you using an iPhone or android? You might need to reset your network settings on your phone, also what browser are you using?

Do you have a screenshot of the error or anything popping up when connecting?

Thanks for the clarification on the encrypting, I got that wrong there :) Afaik the hotspot is not hiding or faking your IP though, it just changes to the IP address from the device that is providing the connection. Or did I get that wrong too?

the thing with hotspotting (where I'm from anyways) is that you get an IP that is basically public from a pool of IPs. so, i could go on my hotspot and get an IP and you could use a hotspot and get the same IP at some point essentially.

i've had issues with jsp on my hotspot before in other countries, can't remember exactly where though.
