i got a standby computer with all new hardware (the computer i use is 12th gen i9 so its modern, yes im aware 4th gen is like ancient but its dead reliable hardware for what its doing)
i removed the motherboard from one tower and placed it in another, it had uptimes of months now it has uptimes of weeks in the older case. im nearly certain its the psu because its just a tower and a psu i swapped it into but give me your ideas here.
i7 - tested no issues 4 gen
new motherboard - tested no issues 4th gen
ram tested no issues 32gb
video card no issues 8gb
i swapped the motherboard into an older computer tower i did not replace the power supply. how do i test the power supply to make sure its not what is causing the random crashes. i tested how much power draw for the computer and it hovers around 250 ( 150 watt most of the time) watts at max, the psu is rated at 500 watts. all the hardware is new with under 6 months of use except for the psu, are there any other places i can check for possible areas that can crash the computer or hang it
i set up temp monitoring and everything is within safe limit
i have used ubuntu for more then 13 years now and its not the os that is crashing its 100% hardware just cant narrow it down.
im using ubuntu 20.04 desktop, ill upgrade it to 22.04 and see if i still get crashes but im kinda at a loss here at what could be doing this.
