I know what a vpn is, but what does it do for people who use it in call of duty warzone?

Allows you to connect to different regions. So you can choose your player base.

To add on to this Google says "Egypt" tends to be "easiest" region to play against.

Some people will do it to play against known regions where the overall gameplay is better/easier sometimes at the sacrifice of ping etc.

For example when I played apex on console the team I played with we would pub stomp in Germany/Eu servers although we were NA ( one of the people on team was in the UK ) We did that coz those servers were significantly less “sweaty” in terms of overall gameplay. Easier to have high tempo games with big numbers.

It’s for scrubs who can’t compete on their own servers and need bot lobbies

Pretty much sends your ping to another location away from your home server, and since you cant find a lobby within you skill based match, it broadens it. So lets say you have 1.5+kd. Your range of players will usually be vs 1.0+ kd players. But vpn allows the sbmm to expand and youll start getting kids that have .5kd

I never played shooters online until fortnite came out and i immediately transitioned to COD BR as soon as it came out. Ive worked up to 1KD. My weekly avg is between 1.3kd and 1.5kd

But i feel like im getting vpn'd for lack of a metter term.

Like people who are pure 3+KD teams wrecking my lobbies lately. My lobbies look waaaay harder than a lot of streamer lobbies.

Like this Nadia chick and other rando streamera.

Idk man seems pretty shitty

This.

If right now you’re getting shit stomped, it likely means your rise in play suggested you were better than you actually were. Continue getting shit on and it’ll eventually even out and put you where you belong.

E: You getting stomped has fuck all to do with VPNs lol

A VPN is always slower than a direct connection. That means the only two real reasons to play CoD Warzone on a VPN is to play in a location that blocks CoD WarZone (such as a school/corporate computer or country) or to evade bans.

Short Answer: If you want to game on a 10-20mbps connection with low ping with the best computer you can afford, use a service like Google Stadia.

Long answer: The only real way to mitigate speed issues would be to connect to a Virtual Machine (VM) that is connected to its own high-speed connection. For example, let's say your physical computer has a 20mbps connection and the virtual computer you're connecting to has a 1000mbps physical connection. That means you can download everything to the virtual computer at up to 1000mbps. However, the moment you try to download a file from the virtual computer to your physical computer, you're limited to your 20mbps connection. Services like Google Stadia, Microsoft xLink, Nvidia GeforceNOW, Steam Link, etc take this idea a step further. Not only do their VMs have a fast connection, they have powerful specs.
