Tried to share a link explaining affixes and listing all affixes and items via pm to a newer person, so they could better understand how they work. Upon sending I get temp banned. I would understand were it something other than a link to a d2wiki page, like something that is threatening for a user pc etc. Or if I made a topic with the link. It was a pm though.
How are we supposed to help newer players get better at things if we can't even share game info and guides? Why is the system so strict as to not allow exceptions for/tell the difference, between good link or bad? I'm sick of being temp banned and threatened with warnings for trying to utilize a site that supposedly is all about trading/sharing information etc.
So if any moderator feels like explaining why explaining how sharing guides to item affixes or crafting guides, or any helpful information is bad, please do. With jsp having taken a hit to it's user base lately, it's in our best interest to help newer folks, so they can learn and not just quit because a p/c thread was negative, and they don't understand why, or things like that.

You can always ask a Moderator what links are allowed. Usually if you're going to send them info I'd stick to official blizzard stuff.

Will do. This post was made because clear instructions about who to ask. If I had questions about the temp ban, were not included in said ban information.


True, I'd just assume d2wiki and specific sites that have been in use nearly as long as d2 would be fine. Blizzard never has the full breakdown some guides provide, and navigating in hopes of finding more complex info on their boards is tedious and generally not fruitful. If it's basic info, arreatsummit works fine.
The link I sent though was what I refer to as the affix bible. It has affixes and color codes for items/rarity it can spawn etc.

Thank you both for the reasonable responses. I honestly expected nothing, or someone to just say read the rules, which doesn't list safe sites to link.
