So can you tell me more about mechanics of facet jewels. Is there radius you need to be in to proc, does it effect added elemental dmg on your items. If i over stack res does it negate effect?

No radius.

Facets add +% elemental damage to your attacks, and applies -% elemental res to your enemy, but only when they are attacked by your attacks of the corresponding element. For example:

You have 4x 5-5 fire facets and send a fireball of 100 damage to an enemy/player who has 70 fire resist.
Without facets, you'd deal 100*(1-0.7) = 30 damage.
Now, with the -20% fire res from the facets, you'd deal 100*(1-(0.7-0.2)) = 50 damage.

Now if this person has max fire res of 75, and stacked an extra 20 on top of it, The -20 from the facets would be cancelled by the enemy's stacked fire res.

That's why cold stack is very important, cold sorceresses have access to cold mastery.

No. Your cold mastery only applies to your attacks and doesn't mess with the opponents attacks. It's not an aura. It applies on hit and does what cersei explained.

Cold mastery will not cancel each other like an aura would like explained.

What will happen is that both cold masteries will be working as intended. If both of you have 300 cold res (+200) and both a cold mastery of -220% enemy cold resistance, you will both deal and receive damage as if you had -20% cold resistance.
