Could someone please explain how the star upgrade system works?

So you get star upgrades when you pay real money for fg, that’s simple

What about the other process where you use forum gold for stars? It seems like you have to use both forum gold and money for stars? Why would you do that if you can just use money and save the forum gold?

Also how is purchasing under the available star upgrades section different than setting an fg amount and paying money to get star upgrade?

You offer forum gold that other people spend money on. That money goes towards star upgrades for your account

Example:

If I put 2000fg up for $40, and another JSP user buys the forum gold, that other user gets 2000fg, and you get $40 towards star upgrades on your account

Ok thanks. So under current pricing you can spend say spend $10 to bid for a 425 fg lot for a star. But you only get the star and not the fg? If you just used the regular system you get both the Fg and the star not just the star. What’s the point then?

Nvrmind I think I get it, the buyer gets a better rate on the fg they buy with money

If you’re the one spending $$, you get the forum gold, not star upgrades. People might prefer to do this because it’s cheaper than buying it directly through the site

Its better rates and it is a chance to help someone else who maybe acquires more forum gold through trading than their willingness to spend their own cash. :)

You also get back whatever $40 buys you if you bought fg from jsp.

So the $40 star upgrade only costs you the difference between the 2000fg you offer and the FG you get back.

Some people don’t care about the stars, so the they use the donate for me tool to get more fg vs their money.

I use the donate for me tool to get stars at no $ to me.
