I feel like there is mass abuse of bumps and users making multiple posts to avoid the bump rule.
I do my best to report blatant early bumps that I see because its frustrating that I respect the rules while others don't and "get away" with it, or worse are rewarded doing so by making their sale/purchase.

My question is, should I be doing something different? Should I be messaging mods directly or something? Or are the minor site rules more of guidelines nowadays?

Every report is looked at on a case by case basis

Just because you don't see something happening, does not mean nothing is being done
Report each post as you see fit, if it is really bad from one user, collect links and send them to a member of the staff group that runs that section

If you click the report button on topic/post you want to report at the very bottom it will tell you what staff member tiers are in charge of that section.

Right under "If you require additional assistance, the following staff can help with this forum:" at the bottom.

You can always PM them with concerns but the report feature does work and is used as a first line. You can over do it PMing them so using the report function will work in most cases when a staff member gets around to it when able. They are volunteers after all

In severe cases you are more than welcome to PM them though for sure. They are humans just like us just be sure you find one that's online.

Thanks for the thorough and helpful response. I will keep this in mind but I am a little disheartened by the mods response. The thread in question is still active despite me bringing attention to it.

You mentioned 3-4 posts are early bumps. After reviewing the topic it's only two early bumps. Early bumping like such can lead to the topic being closed, and in some cases it will automatically happen.

As already mentioned in pst#2, just because you don't see something happen doesn't mean nothing is being done about it. The topic in question has been brought to staff's attention and they know what they are doing.

I would move on and enjoy the forums.

there are 3 early bumps out of the last 4, but yes i will move on. no point in crying about rules that aren't upheld.

I recalled a topic from earlier while on a rush. I appreciate you mentioned the correction here.

Search should work regardless if other users are following the correct trade practices. I would not be worried of that being an issue.

Also the Diablo 2 Resurrected Trading Forums are moving so quickly that most topics will be on page in under a minute. While there may be users making some illegitimate posts most often the reason topics are being pushed down is normal activity.

As mentioned in post #2 you do have additional means to reach out to staff for additional assistance regarding members breaking rules within that sub-forum.

Those posts are today, there is zero chance every report can be looked at instantly with the small staff crew here at jsp, all you have to do is report it and move on and it will be dealt with.

I see 2 early bumps and you being out bid. Are you just being salty on this specific case? Being that its from today, and this is the one you singled out and seem most unhappy with?
