Hello,

I recently purchased a Nintendo Switch 2 and was thinking about playing D2R. I was also thinking about the idea of playing D2R again on PC. How does it work, are both platforms separate accounts? Will I be able to use the same account on both playing platforms? Do switch users who play D2R only encounter other switch users? is the switch 2 trading forum linked in any way to the standard PC forum? Just trying to understand everything before I decide if I purchase D2R for console and PC. Thank you kindly for help

Hey!! I can help.

So D2R is Cross-Progression, meaning your online characters and stash are saved to your Battle.net account, allowing you to switch between PC and consoles seamlessly. You would need to purchase the game on both platforms in order to access each one. Now, it is not Cross-play, meaning you will not be able to see/play with anyone from the different platform while playing.

You do have an advantage of being able to trade/post in both forums, as you will have access to conduct either trade by switching to the correct platform.

adding to this, while playing on the Nintendo Switch, You can ONLY play up to 4 Players Max, here is a video I found helpful which goes over comparisons and Pros & Cons of the Switch.

You would have to purchase two copies of the game. 1 copy on your Switch 2 and 1 copy for PC. You can play the same account on both the Switch 2 and on Pc, but not at the same time. It would be either/or. You'll have to sign into your bnet account on a computer or phone and then link your Nintendo account to your battle.net account. Once that's done, you'll be able to play the same account / charc on either device.
