Hello All,

I've been floating on the site for about 24 hours now, managed to find my desired forum (Old School Runescape)
I had someone mention in game this is a reliable spot for OSRS trading.

I'm trying to buy OSRS GP but it doesn't seem to match like online gold seller rates. Is there something I'm missing?
Or is like the gold on this site equivalent to more? I looked at rates of 290ish D2JSP gold to OSRS is only like a couple mil for $10. Is there more to it I'm missing or....?

I've only bought gold one time from a seller and they never showed up to pay in game and just took my money.... So I'm exploring all routes that are credible w/o using my CC/debit directly.

Secondly, where can I go for level guides for OSRS? I couldn't find any. There are some YT videos but some of them are very old so I doubt they're up to date.
Back into OSRS and wanting to find some friends to chat / play with. If there is a sub forum for finding OSRS pals?

Any advice is helpful, or if there's even more to do on this site. Though I do love the classic look of the forum, makes me feel young again L o L. TIA!

Hello!

First off, welcome =D

I've put my time into JSP (d2r mainly) and actually recently started OSRS after 20 years of not playing. Happy to help here

First, rates. If you're comparing the price of RSG to the dollar value of FG bought directly from d2jsp you might find some discrepancy. There's lots of ways to get FG. If you're looking for a decent conversion rate, take a look at the Battlenet and Steam threads. There, you can send someone Bnet or Steam digital gift cards in exchange for FG at a cheaper price. Careful though! ISO is not allowed, so you can't start a post offering money for FG. Watch prices and make an offer in someone else's thread. There's a 3 days wait time on both.

JSP in general: it's a trust system. You have a new account and effectively risk nothing trying to scam people (not questioning your morals, just pointing out objectivity). You will likely have to trade first or use a moderator. I used to sweat making trades as a new user, take a few breaths and make sure you know what you're agreeing to, regardless of what you're trading.

OSRS specifically: people don't want to risk their 10 year old account with a few billion in a trade that looks like rwt and risks a ban in RS. If you're on a fresh character, you'll likely have to put some time in before you can trade the JSP community.

I'm not sure about guides but with a new OSRS character and 20 years without Playing, somebody recommended rushing Recipe for Disaster and using Quest Helper on runelite. I imagine it's not how everyone wants to play and definitely feels a bit cheaty but as a Dad with less game-time I've been absolutely loving it. 30 hours in (messed around in f2p for 20 hours) and just beat monkey madness, woot.

Thank you guys for your help :) I really appreciate it.
Have a great day guys!

Also, I totally understand the honor/trust system. I have no issues using a moderator. I'm assuming there are qualified people to do so? How do I know whos a moderator and whos not?

Any OSRS friends are welcome :)

Also edit, sorry I didn't see there was a quote button so I replied to you both in one lol. But thanks guys :)
Grats on monkey madness! I haven't played in 10 years and have been GRINDING this week lol. Almost all skills to 30-40

The person who makes a post can click "request a mediator" on their own topic. If you want them to, include it in your post or PM them.

Where it says "trusted" on mine, it will say "mediator" in green on some users. Mediators don't always post, theyll just hold FG until both parties PM to confirm the trade happened and then release the FG.
