Here we are again: I'm unable to upload an avatar from FaceBook.

Then I thought I'll upload one to my Personal Photo Gallery. Nope! same error message.
Is there any other way to add a picture?

The I noticed I had an old post from Dec 17 2021

Finally I got a different error message: "You do not have permission to view this topic."

I must say I'm rather disappointed with the quality of this site.
First I had to jump through a whole bunch of hoops to get logged in.
Then I get 3 error messages in a row. LOL

I guess it's God's will.

P.S. I tried both Firefox and Chrome.

You need first 15 posts

You don't need 15 posts to use an avatar. That is only necessary for signatures or embedded images in posts.
The issue is that the facebook link is not a direct image URL.

Upload the image on any image hosting site like Imgur.com. If you don't have the image on your device, download it from Facebook, then upload it.
After uploading, copy the direct image URL (ends in a file extension as .jpg, .png, etc.) and paste it on the avatar settings page.

Keep in mind that an avatar may not exceed 50kb in file size. If you are unsure about the file size of your image, or you need help resizing it, feel free to send me a PM.

Turns out I'm not really a new user; I signed up several years ago but haven't been active for awhile.
I'll check out the New User Guide.

I guess I don't need an Avatar enough to jump through all the hoops.

Post here or send me a pm of the imagine you want to use as an avatar. I'll get you what you need for it to work. Just save the image and post it.
