I keep getting the “we have detected a vpn or proxy” message. Then it won’t let me send messages or post for a while, then it stops. Any reason for this? I use my phone and only my phone to post and trade. I don’t even know what a vpn or proxy is.

VPN draws up some issues. I would highly advise against using vpn for jsp.

He’s a 2010 member with 16k posts. He knows what a vpn is.

2 things that have nothing to do with each other. Don't assume.

If he knew what it was then why would he make this post and say he doesn't know what it is?

Call your cellphone carrier and speak with tech support and find out what’s going on with your connection. Your region could be a determining factor when roaming etc. If on WiFi contact your isp (that means internet service provider). I would bet against jsp having a server side issue.

Best advice would be to google vpn and proxy to get a clear understanding of what those terms mean. Not the answer you’re looking for, but something funky is going on with your connection. Talk to who ever operates your network.

If you use opera browser on your cellphone, then that app have a built in VPN (activated by default)! I can imagine other webbrowsers might also have that!

The world is running out of clean IPv4's, so the underlying problem is that too much people are sharing the same ip addresses...

It is illegal to access the site using a VPN or a proxy,

however if you're accessing the site using a public, work or perhaps even your home wifi then it may unknowingly have a proxy setup on the router,

if that is the case and you frequently access the internet using those networks then I recommend contacting one of our admins using the contact feature: https://forums.d2jsp.org/contact.php

select proxy issues and describe your problem in detail.

Like I said, I just use my cell phone. When it happens, sometimes it fixes itself after a while and sometimes if I put my phone in airplane mode and then let it reconnect itself to everything then it fixes itself.

This issue is a new one also. It’s happened a few times now all within the last couple weeks. It happens when I’m away from home on cell service and it’s also happened at home while connected to WiFi. I will put my phone on airplane mode and it fixes it sometimes and sometimes I just have to wait it out and it eventually starts working again. Nothing has changed on my end, I wonder if it could be something with the website?
