Looking for some insight from the moderators as there's a lot of confusion lately over what exactly constitutes early bumping.

Would this example be considered an early bump?

Thanks for any help!

Yes.

Refer to this thread Post #4 and #5 for a detailed explanation:

TL;DR: If the bump button still reads time remaining until next bump, any post from you can be considered an early bump.

Without having the overall context there remains some uncertainty, but yes, this is probably an Early Bump. Thanking someone for a trade can take place in PMs. Updating quantities or item lists after a trade can be done by editing the first post (in most cases). While these two posts aren't exactly a back-to-back situation, the second post probably came before the 4 hour timer on top of the first post went to zero.

It is my understanding that back-to-back is, if anything, poorly written.

I believe an early bump constitutes any time the OP posts while the 4 hour timer is ticking down on their thread.

I could be wrong though.

Hence why I'm here looking for clarity from the mod team.

Back-to-back early bumping is one kind of an Early Bump. There are other varieties of an EB that achieve the same (and were intended to simply bring the topic up). Such posts would also constitute a trade rule violation. The timer is a very good indicator to show when a topic can be bumped, yes!

The Early Bump Rule is simple. I do not see it being changed.

Let me use myself as an example and explain it in detail.

Let's say I make a Topic for 10 Ber Runes @ 50fg each on 10/2/2024 @ 10AM. Obviously, the next time I can Bump my Topic is at 2PM. However, let's say someone comes in @ 10:30AM and post "Bin 1x Ber Rune" that 4 Hour Bump timer is now reset which means I, as the OP cannot Bump my Topic till 2:30PM.

If I quote Post #2 and say PM'd, t4t etc that's considered EB #1.

Again, someone comes in at 11:15AM and bins another Ber the cycle repeats. The Bump timer is reset and I, as the OP cannot Bump my Topic till 3:15PM. If I reply at 11:21AM and again say t4t etc that's EB #2 and so on.

YOU as the OP can only Bump your Topic EVERY 4 Hours since the last Post in your Topic. If you have multiple items for trade and multiple users post to bin, you can quote all those users are the same time and say "t4t" etc if you wish @ the 4 Hour Bump time.

Hope that helps understanding that Rule.
