not limited to browser, cant sync with dropbox, steam doesnt work, etc.

was completely random, was watching a youtube vid and then suddenly internet completely stops working but still shows im connected. booted in safe mode, internet works fine, browser etc. log in normally and come back to the same problem

idk what to do. searched through google, tried a bunch of stuff and nothing. thoughts?

So dropbox and steam just arent working?
I assume youre trying to have files backup and are trying to run games?

If your internet works properly in Safe Mode with Networking, then it's most likely a program that is causing the issue. Here's some steps you can take:

1) Run a Malwarebytes scan to check for any malicious files

2) Open up Task Manager and go to the Startup tab, disable all programs(Note which ones are enabled/ by taking a picture or writing it down), and reboot to see if it works properly now.

3) If step 2 works, you'll have to manually enable them one by one to see which one is the problem.

This sometimes happens due to a VPN, which is bundled in Antiviruses like Norton.

Is this a mac or windows? What operating system? Desktop or laptop?

I agree with MrSK - if it is working in safe mode, then it is likely a new or updated program that is causing the issue.

Did you install or update anything around the time the issue started?

completely whiffed on the title. no application could access the internet, this included the browser. it works now, turned the computer on 12 hours later...no idea



its fine now. was weird cause it was fine for 2 hours then just dropped. havent added any apps for god knows how long.



windows 11 desktop. havent installed anything in over a month (dota) since then, mustve been a year+
