Only "shortcut" that comes into my mind you can get to IM is through guild if you have chat ( picture below )
When i click that chat it opens up IM for me + guildchat

Pictures in there doesn't work anymore but according to the post there used to be a icon in top right that would lead you to IM and it does ring a bell that it used to be up there. Idk after this rewrite and update that was some month ago where it got moved to.
I bet someone will have the answer :P I'll try look around meanwhile see if i can find it :D
