Make sure before you do a driver update, that it is detecting the new GPU
Sometimes, especially with GeForce, it sticks to the original card and does not detect the new one properly
Once that is verified try to run it again, usually that will fix the issue

If it does not detect the new card properly then it will continue to try using the drivers for the 1070ti
That could be why it's not working anymore with the new card

Nvidia drivers are notoriously difficult to remove, to the point that people created a tool to facilitate the process. Search for Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) and try running it first, then restart your PC, then install the fresh drivers. Maybe it helps. Good luck!
