Well yes and no.
You can use other images hosting sites as well.

I use this feature mostly:

This does use imgur as host, but does it all automatically.

Also I love using ShareX to take screenshots.

Amazing piece of screenshot software!
You can even set it up to automatically upload it on imgur and give you the image link without having to use the website after sign-up.
