Not sure if this is the right subforum, but I have this problem in my pc for several days.

My internet is working 100% normally, no disconnections or speed spikes at all.
But whats happening frequently is:
I type whatever on the google chrome search bar and it works when it wants to, lol
when I type a site or whatever, it works, but when I type something as I were searching on google itself, it fails constantly

any idea of what it could be?

Google doesn't work for most users on this website, not sure why

More serious answer: you sure you didn't tweak some browser setting to disable search in this field? Could you try Firefox?

idk man, I dont remember switching any settings
but it works SOMETIMES lol, thats the weird part

I'd say it works like 10-20% of the times I try to search something through the chrome search bar

What I did now was uninstall and reinstall chrome, it worked in the beginning, then it stopped working again minutes later
btw if I try to type "google.com" or www.google.com to access their site and do my search there, it also doesnt work

Do you login to google when you use Chrome? You can check by seeing if your initials are right below the X to close the browser. If so it may be importing some settings causing it

Paste this in your browser: chrome://settings/searchEngines?search=search
Make sure google is set to the default search engine and check to see if there's any weird shortcuts that could be causing it.

Other than that i'd assume it's either a PC issue, which i'd run Windows update to see if it resolves it, or a DNS/network issue that restarting your router/modem could solve. It does sort of sound like your traffic to google.com is being throttled or blocked by something though. You can always use Firefox or another browser in the meantime to see if the same issue comes up to confirm it's a traffic issue

Hey OP, have you tried the following things:
- Entirely another browser.
- Current browser but with extensions disabled (private mode)
- Changing LAN DNS from Google to CloudFlare (1.1.1.1) and vice-versa
- Booting Windows into safe mode

Also, do you use retail Windows (paid) or cracked one? Most activators even some KMSpico one contain ransomwares and play around with your network without your knowledge which causes pages to not load at all.

interesting answer....

Yea:
I do use kmspico activator (but wasnt having this issue before the next point)
I recently changed my DNS to google 8.8.8.8 ( and it resolved my massive disconnections on call of duty )

Changing browser is not an option, I have all my configs saved, favorites, logged in gmail account etc, I just dont wanna change browser at all

I'll try to change the dns and/or disable extensions (I use adblock plus)

You don't have to change your browse, just attempt to use any other browser to verify it's not your main one (that way you eliminate whether the issue is hardware/software/extension related)

KMSpico is known to hook onto your network (injection type of attack) which blocks multiple services and pages from loading, friend of mine had the same trouble, after hours of debugging, it was the KMSpico that screwed up his whole networking system, he wasn't able to open most websites and even he did load one, afterward pages wouldn't load at all.

On your Windows, check your proxy and VPN settings, see if those options are disabled or if they are connected to random IP address, none of the one you own, including local IP's (router/WiFi/other hardware).
If there's a random IP apart from the one you own, high chance you're probably off to a bad activator and you'd need to have that removed and get an original Windows (those can cost down to 10-20 bucks but saves you the trouble and you also get constant security updates), good luck.
