I tried requesting a mod for a trade with another user on the D2R Xbox ladder sub forum.


I got this message and my request was closed, I play on console, I don’t have a battle tag nor have I been prompted to make one on D2R Xbox.

Everything on Xbox is through the users gamer tag, character names are replaced with the gamer tag, battle tag features are not enabled on console outside of if you have pc you can cross save. Literally there are no options involving a battle tag on Xbox.

You can’t be invited to party/game through the battle tag on Xbox, again everything is through the gamer tag.

Yes, console player/account names have different formats and don't necessarily end with numbers. Simply resubmit your request (using the Xbox gamer tag) and I'm sure it'll work!

Yeah I know that, other mod clearly didn’t, buyer has moved on.

Mediators are humans and users just like everyone else
Mistakes like this happen once in a while, this could have easily been corrected by responding to the Mediator and explaining it was an Xbox trade

I tried that and they doubled down telling me I needed to create a battle tag and link it to my console, which is why I created this post.

The inconvenience wasn’t the mistake, they happen.

The inconvenience was when a mod double down not once but twice in an instance when they were wrong, leaving me no other option than to post here and then PMing me exactly what Denny said in this thread a minute after Denny typed it.

The interaction between us didn’t read/end as someone making a mistake, it was one of someone not knowing the procedure for Xbox mediation, the very thing they answered the call for.

Honestly though, after everything the only reason I’m still upset is after explaining all this to the mod and saying I missed out on the trade I didn’t even get an empty apology from them, I got it from you.

a dentist would have better luck extracting all 4 wisdom teeth on a patient without a local anesthetic than them admitting they were wrong. let that analogy sink in for a bit. they operate on a whole other level, don't think too much of it brother

word of advice: rely on yourself not mods
If it's even semi-sketchy back out unless you can afford it.
Mods will gave the same bs excuses that big companies do because they can't do anything and you are better off being careful by yourself.
Multiple mods have helped make safe trades and a user was STILL scammed if you don't believe me search the user austin on top of it and lmk

Sometimes people make mistakes and have mental lapses at their jobs.
Keep in mind what they do is volunteer their time to try and assist us.

For every 1 issue, there's hundreds or thousands of successful things the mods help us do. Nobody is perfect. Without mods the site we love and know as D2Jsp wouldn't even exist.
Perhaps he took the mediation thinking it would be easy and he hasn't done one of them before. People have to start somewhere. I'm willing to bet he will remember this and not make the same mistake in the future.
