Hello, I'm looking to get back into minecraft with my family. What is the best version to purchase now? The one my son has on switch requires him to pay for literally every mod and every texture pack which I find disgusting.

Is the Java version the most common one still? We play on PC.

PC has a lot more options. Probably best over all version.

Imo, all the console versions will make you pay for some BS thing like that.

When you buy direct, you get both Java and bedrock included.
