I accidentally transferred 1.7K to the wrong user. Is there any way to get it back other than just hoping the guy is nice as does it?

Send a PM to the user to kindly ask them to send back the fg and make sure to click the box 'save message to sent folder' before sending.

Give the user a reasonable amount of time to react to it and if you don't receive an answer or your gold back you can create a topic here: https://forums.d2jsp.org/forum.php?f=250

Just adding; if the fg was sent accidentally and is not related to any trade or service it is not optional for the other user to send back the fg and it will have to be returned in order to avoid consequences.

always double check

If they do not respond, send another pm asking for your fg to be returned and SAVE the sent message.
You can then post a scammer accusation if they do not return and action will be taken against them.

They responded super quickly when they got online and returned the FG.
