Why am I not allowed to give people links to a disc not just in public chat/signatures/whatnot (I understand this) but even in direct messages/pms I can't send friends a disc link.

I can understand not advertising disc servers on the forums and what not but even in pms?

Since discord is not a d2jsp supported platform. This changed about 2 years ago. It was possible before.

I can put links to youtube and twitch though, but not disc? Confusing to me tbh.

In recent times, discord has been used as a method for users to scam others, wether it’s impersonation, misleading, or deceiving. In addition to this, many users find themselves apart of discord servers that are not compliant with jsp site rules, some of these servers include groups of people who share hacks, dupe methods ect…

If you have a problem with this decision, you can PM a senior mod directly. Lz4 has the final say on this matter so he might be your best go to.

Well I can completely respect discord not being friendly and everything. I have no problem with that.

My only issue is, will I get in trouble for having new friends, guild members, or people I meet join my discord?
I have no malicious intent nor do I hack/mod/whatever but I do place value on out-of-game live text and voice communication among a large group of people. Discord has let me do just that.
