official guild topics used to be allowed in General Chat since i registered here or as far as i can remember. i have noticed that this is no longer the case since new moderators have joined the Junior Moderator team. since then such topics are directly closed which is unfortunate because they are fundamental for this section and provide a lot of discussion / activity. also, official guild topics are imortant to represent the guild and attract more members.

Making guild chat posts in the General Chat is the legacy method, often times there is a lot of spam in those topics which lead to them being closed
