Is not guaranteed. Donating fg for $25 star upgrade it gives you the chance to gain access.

Piggy backing on what OBUS said, its a minimum of $25 in the donate for me section to apply for donor forum access. It can take multiple tries however.

I'm not sure if they do a notification for receiving access... its been years but if you do have it, you'll see it.
