Panasonic TC-P60ZT60_400

Panasonic Viera TC-P60ZT60 – 60″

If there is anything the ZT60 can be remembered by, it’s that it is packed with lots and lots of features. In terms of image quality, ZT60 comes with a Studio Master Panel which can reject ambient lighting but most importantly give the unit tremendous brightness and black levels capabilities. Because of its improved red phosphor, the TV’s color accuracy also has become more precise than ever. For a top 3D TV, it’s just a bit surprising that Panasonic didn’t equip the ZT60 with a camera for Skype and other facial recognition apps. However, it has an optional Bluetooth remote that allows voice commands and a fully backlit remote as well. Moreover, it has a user-customizable home screen and comes with 2 3D glasses all for a price of not more than $3500

Toshiba 55L7200U

Two of the best things about the Toshiba 55L7200U is that it is simple, easy to use and delivers image resolution comparatively as great as the best in the market. This LED backlit LCD TV isn’t like most of its competition as it doesn’t come with motion control, face recognition, camera, built-in microphone and voice control. However, it makes use of motion-smoothing technology, local dimming of LED edge lighting, 2D to 3D conversion, Ethernet port, Wi-Fi adapter, Audyssey audio options, 4 HDMI inputs and 3 USB ports. If these are not enough, then perhaps you’d be convinced by this set’s QWERTY keyboard inclusion or by the fact that it’s priced only at $1,129.

I personally love Sony. I currently have a 42' Sony Bravia which is a 1080p LED HD TV & it's amazing. I also have a 32' Sony Bravia for my PC which I play DII & Once in a blue moon LoL & PoE I love the picture quality. I would say Sony is your best bet, yes it may be expensive but its worth it. Also if I'm not mistaken if you buy it from Best Buy (Where I got it from) you get a free 1 year warranty from Sony.

vizios are prone to hdmi burning out, which cost more to replace than the tv does.

the geek squad guy keeps contradicting himself and then when proven wrongs tries to make a new claim, first they were too bright, now they have bad response time...
geek squad workers rarely know anything and have no REAL certification or education, so I wouldn't take his opinion as anything even remotely an expert advise.

I've had great luck with samsung and sanyo tvs, the vizio was great until it burnt out the hdmi port and now only can use rca cables, and the more I looked into it the more I found its a common vizio problem.
I personally don't buy anything sony usually cause the price/quality just isn't there anymore. (been about 2 decades since I considered sony a major player)

this is some sound advice. No offense to the geek squad guy but don't listen to anything working at best buy says EVER. Sometimes they get things right, but its usually for the wrong (or made up) reasons.

Check out this article for some recommendations based on actual tests from cnet (if response time is the most important thing you are looking at)

There is alot of good reading on HDTVs there that should help you make your decision. Everyone has different options and there is no "BEST" tv. One TV could have the best input lag, the other has the best picture, another the best price, etc. etc. My "ideal" TV is definitely different than "yours"

There would be a section for this..
http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=70730977&f=258&o=10#p475133851

Samsung is very bright and for that I dont recommend for anything unless you will put on a movie mode so you can actually get detail out of the picture.
If it is in dynamic then your reds bleed into other colors and if you watch lets say the Tampa Bay football games. The jerseys are white however they are so bright you lose all detail.

Sont makes the #1 Gaming Television which is an LED becaus eit has triluminous display ( kinda like how Sharp has Quatron )
It has the best Response time.

Look @ Sony or LG for gaming. They will give ya great response times and will give the best detail ( since they are naturally so bright. )

You could get a Sony for right around $1300

You can PM me about any questions. I do Home Theatre installs for GeekSquad.

Samsung makes a really nice TV but they are just too bright. Those who say Samsung is the best is just attracted like a fly is to bright lights..

EDIT:
Phillips, Westinghouse, RCA is all garbage. They have pink hues to them and, response times are horrible and the HZ is usally 60HZ which will result in lagging, ghosting, and jittering..
Get a TV with atleast 120HZ ( dont go by clearmotion of 120hz )

If you have a bright room go for LED.
If you have a super dark room gofor Plasma.

PM me with exactly what features you want..
Smart, 3D, Bright or dark room etc...

Honestly, I wouldn't use "Geeksquad" as a way to verify you know anything about electronics. Most people are going to laugh at you.

60hz isnt going to cause lagging/ghosting/jittering like you're saying. And 120hz is pretty pointless on a tv for gaming. Seeing how they're all limited to a max of 60fps input, Its just going to show the same frame twice, Which might APPEAR to be more fluid but wont change any of your gameplay. Not to mention movies/tv is only 24fps. Basically it's a waste of $$.

About panasonic being "too bright" Does geek-squad even adjust tv's pass the auto mode settings? There is no such thing as a tv that's "Made too bright" the actual LCD display gives off almost no light, The LED back-light does pretty much all of the brightness, So it's a stupid easy fix to turn the back-light down a few notches.

And you can't blanket statement of "all three of these companies have pink tv's" Phillips / Rca have a few decent tv's, And if every one of their tv's were fucking pink they'd be out of business.

Also, wow...
Missed This. Don't even know what to say to this.
Maybe try googling 120 hz vs 60 hz for gaming...

120 vs 60 on a tv***

120 on a computer monitor is actually useful & nice.
