It absolutely is allowed, there's a setting in the blizzard launcher that allows you to check for "Allowing Multiple Instances".
You just can't use any programs that will allow you to CONTROL more than one character at a time. (i.e. lots of guys advertising "legit" level services will join games with 8x at once - that shit is NOT legit and will get you banned).
Anyone who wants a legit method - just google multibox d2r windows procress explorer
why do you need to use process explorer for this, if there is this "allowing multiple instances" option?
