your graphics card cannot handle them i think, filling your memory and once full -> disconnect.
you could look up github, there are things that allow you to change your client, like removing these effects when bosses die.
also there are youtube tutorials that teach you how to do that (editting .mpq files).
but it will probably be easier to get a better graphics card and or more ram. speaking of ram, anything lower than 32 gb is not good enough for d2r, i think.
well idk really i've stopped playing it after a week,, game is simply not fun when it takes 20 sec to change areas/locations :P
I don’t find this to be true about ram requirements . I run 16gb and a GeForce 1060 on low graphics and do not crash.
I do agree with the other advice - either a faulty graphics card or does not meet minimum requirements. May need to go into the graphic card settings and mess around with the defaults
