The IP address reset via router restart will only work if you have a dynamic IP. Static IP's don't reset with the router restart, which one you have depends on your internet provider. You can find it out yourself which one you have by visiting one of the existing "WhatIsMyIP" sites (google it up), reset the router and visit that site again to see if it changed. If it didn't, you have a static IP.

There are ways to reset a static IP aswell, just not as easy as the dynamic one with the router restart. If don't want to wait, you can give it a try - just google it up, there are a few methods.

Depending on the internet service provider you use they may also be able to manually reset it for you.
