Depends on the state. In Missouri I can do what I have to to stop the attacker as long as I am in fear of my life.

Do you live in a liberal or conservative state/area? General rule of thumb would be that if you’re in a liberal state/area, chances are there aren’t stand your ground or self defense laws on your side. There may be a couple exception areas but it’s literally only a couple so don’t chance it.

Fuck that. I’m law enforcement and I’m telling you that no matter where you live you should do what you have to do to preserve your life. Charges are rarely brought against individuals in American that use self-defense. Better to be judged by a jury than God.

Are there witnesses/cameras? Did either you or the accused have alcohol/drugs in the system? Who can afford the better lawyer?

Hey I’m with you man! I’m just saying! Try that in California and see what kind of crap they throw at you for defending yourself. I’m not just saying this, I have friends that have payed the price as a result in those areas. Maybe they just had a bad judge.

I believe it would be considered manslaughter at least here in Oregon that is based off the measure 11 law ect.
