still chatting with som1, he doesn't seem to know what this error rly is, im trying another reinstalling atm... if that doesn't work ill have to restart comp and try to rename the file manually, then if its nort working i guess its rip d2

Tell me, how are you trying to install D2, at first.

i also had a problem on windows 10 which is your computer doesn't recognize the 3d glide thing, which won't let you run the game (Run VidTest in d2 folder) I have been able to use Glide3 to openGL wrapper, provided and developed by SvenWrapper (This is for newer PCs)

after you have followed how to install all of this, make sure to have to set on your D2 shortcut the best compatibility mode you can set. Right click on D2 shortcut > Properties > Compatibility > Select Service Pack 3 > Check ''Reduced Color Mode'' set it to 16-bit > Check Run this program as an administrator.

All of this should cleaar up your problem because it looks like your computer (graphic card) doesn't recognize the use of Direct3D.

Direct3d was created by Nvidia but never got improved, in fact Nvidia made newer products and never updated Direct3d. I hope moderators will allow me to use the SvenWrapper because it is how I solved my problem and others too.

My problem was on the lod install. Which would cancel because of an error before the end. After many tries it finally worked tho! And yeah these settings help alot i have them atm on my d2! Ty for the input m8!
