It's not a bad idea.

I think the best way to go about this would be to message Trade Moderator since they lead the Dota 2 section. Try to find one that is most familiar with that game.

If you think that a guide needs to be added or updated maybe you could create it Try getting some different active members in that section to all contribute and work with that said Trade Moderator for the best possible outcome. I'm sure if they see a need to a new guide that would be happy to assist. Good luck!

How long did you wait? Some times a reply can take a few days or longer. Keep in mind the staff team is busy with RL and daily responsibilities here on jsp. It's always possible it was accidently deleted. I'd try messaging a different TM this time, mentioned you want to make a guide for the Dota 2 forum and what some approval and/or guidance. Or just have them direct you to a TM who is more familiar with that area/game. I'm sure not replying was not intentional just remain patient I guarantee you they are willing to help

yea they are busy. which is why they should promote a trusted, active user of the dota 2 subforum to moderator or mediator.

yer well this was like 2months ago when 1st wave of impersonaters went around scamming

i really dont see the problem with 2 new stickys

1 explaining how to trade safely from jsp to steam and warning the dangers of having your steam acc public

and 1 with a list of current steam accounts being used to impersonate so traders can add them to blocklist

You get scammed because you do not get a pm from the correct person on d2jsp who confirms their steam account. In essense what caulder said is true.
If you have a good suggestion. Pm me it. A list of accounts/scammers wont happen hence why it is not there.
If you have a suggestion that will improve the subforum let me know. Ill get back to you on the weekend for lack of connection until then.
