any additional budget would most likely go strictly to GPU upgrade (followed by an additional storage drive if you own large af games like ark survival/multiple CoD's)

You can try this first:

Try changing the BIOS setting for the PCIE 1 or 2 (whatever slot you have the GPU plugged into) from auto to 3 (the options should be Auto, 1, 2, 3, 4).
