Relatively. It's more like - the closer you're the stronger the signal. Range is around 300 yards - so you should be good.

You should look up mesh systems. They work together as one whole network to extend the radius significantly. I got an Asus mesh kit when I build my house and it has worked flawlessly since setup. I built a wooden house and use 3 units in my network and have wifi 50 meters around my house.

That would be expensive.

It's a router. You buy it as a package. I bought my set for ~150€ during black friday. It's not a cheap d-link one which you can get for 40-50€ but it's totally worth the money if you ask me.
Like I said, radius is huge and I've never touched it since I installed it. It just works!

Does it work with frontier?

What's that? VPN?

I think frontier is comcast. The person who live downstairs says they bought comcast and it’s their modem and router. I know it is old because they are separate pieces.

So you are leeching on neighbours wifi? I guess you could party up and pay half each and replace the old router.

Im not familiar with that brand and what modem they use but as long as you have a lan port in the modem, you can connect a router to it (the asus lyra for ex.).
