This guy just pulled some shady crap. He came into my game to buy a token, but the moment he entered the game he dopped this unid Zweihander and then went to his stash. didnt say anything, just went and did the deal. I picked it up to ID it, thinking he just dropped it because he didnt want it.

Then, once the trade was done and over, before he left, he said "and my sword?"

which I then dropped, but I had ID'd it to see what it was.
He then starts going off on me about how "I need to buy it now since I ID'd it."

"You owe me 5fg, better pay me my 5fg. I'm going to report you scammer. I don't have to, but only if you pay me my 5fg."

On and on. Mind you, the entire time, the sword is still on the ground in front of us.

I want to block him because I don't need or want some half-arse scammer trying to blackmail me like that, or worse, pestering and bothering myself or my customers/vendors.

Go to your message box, then you can access the ‘manage block list’ feature -

PM’s > Block > Add user to block list, you can even add a reason for organisational purposes

Thank you! And should I do something about this guy? Or just chalk it up to someone trying to pull a fast one and leave it be?

You’re welcome. It seems less like a scam and more like just some BM (bad manners) trading. You can access a list of Trade Moderators here - https://forums.d2jsp.org/staff.php?g=25 it can sometimes be worth reporting to one of them if you feel someone is breaking trade guidelines. However, in this case I’d likely chalk it up to BM.

EDIT: I would also point out, that although you have done nothing wrong, interacting with items that aren’t part of a trade or you are the original owner of could incite some BM accusations also.

How can you say he did nothing wrong then call it BM? 100% shouldn't have touched the sword as it wasn't part of the deal and can now be liable to pay for it.
