anybody know how this thing works? I'm trying to get it set up so that i can record my desktop while I train peoples accounts so that I can prove I am not breaking any rules etc. I can only get it to record window such as runelite and not my entire desktop

there should be a start stream button, and a record button with a red dot (i have not updated my obs in a long ass time so this may have changed sorry if it did) when you hit the record button if you do not have a default file path set already then it should prompt you for a location to save it at

then just go to town bud
you could always set up a stream and stream it like normal, then have twitch archive it for you so anyone can go back and look at it, just be warned i think for non-partners they only save it for like 30 days or something to that effect

Instead of using Window Capture for your Source use Monitor Capture

Don't even see Monitor Capture as an option

okay, so when you open OBS, you first need to setup ascene in the bottom left field, you can call it whatever you want, under this scene beside it you can view sources by right clicking in it, or by selecting the + icon.

the source you are wanting to select/setup depends on what you want to show, game capture only captures games, window capture captures any window you want, display capture, captures your whole monitor frame, so depending on what you want visible you select one of those options.

Would you help me via teamviewer to make things easier? I know computers pretty well and I tried and went through everything and all I get is black screen when I try to capture screen
