Is anyone else experiencing really bad lag spikes ? Meaning, game would be fine for like 2 mins, then get major lag spikes, like a ping of 2883 ? then drop back down to 30? Just need to find out if it is my connection or the game server itself.

Thanks.

I like running this setup when troubleshooting lag:

3 separate cmd windows running continuous ping to your router, a stable internet address and finally the d2 server you're playing on
you can use the title command to give each cmd window a title such as "title d2 serv"

1/ ping -t <local router ip> (internal address of your home router)
2/ ping -t 8.8.8.8 (google's dns server - routes to the closest server to you)
3/ ping -t <d2 server you're playing on> (there are some guides on how to find this using netstat | findstr )

keep these 3 windows running and analyze the output when experiencing lag.
If lag spike is visible on all 3 windows then the problem is cause by your local network (microwave killing wifi or power surge crosstalking on your wired ethernet)
if lag spike is visible on google and d2 then your ISP is having issues
if lag spike is visible only on d2 then d2 is having issues..
