ur right

from my understanding
its only on hit
so u actually have to attack with the weapon itself to make use of that-xx light res

Note that the decrease in enemy Lightning Resistance only works for the character equipped with it, so Lightning-based builds with an Infinity-wielding Mercenary will only benefit from the Conviction Aura.
This Rune Word only works for Ladder characters.
