I posted this on t3fun but it takes ages to get a single reply.

Someone posted this build: http://hellgateaus.net/planner/#Blademaster,55,50,0,0000166160000000049010239700010000,000000000000000

My reply:

I'm thinking of making a critical build, but I'm not sure if I would go for Sword of reckoning/authority.

Wouldn't it be better to max Sword of justice? It's a much faster attack so it would increase your chances of getting a critical hit. Sorry if I'm speaking nonsense though. :p

I have gloves that add +2 to Matched blades and one of my PGrinders adds +3 to Sword of justice.

(Went for Path of righteousness just cause it can be a real lifesafer sometimes)

That first build is complete garbage. Seriously, human waste product. I would not depend on your gloves to give you a skill as important as matched blades. There are better gloves out there (inspect me in station some time and see), and if you switch, you will be stuck without being able to use your gear.

I would also max devine <sic> fury at the expense of some of your yellow and green points. The damage penalty on SoJ is actually additive with strength, not multiplicative, so in reality, each point you put in it is like 4 points of strength. Bad deal.

I think this is better:

I dunno I thought these gloves were pretty good. (If not I can always get a different one)
But I thought it was a good idea to save 2 skill points with these gloves.

I could've gotten a clean pair but I liked the +12% use rate.

Also, I don't know why but up until now I thought Divine Fury was an aura. xD

parry is useless skill and wont work vs bosses, so even 1 pt is a waste
also surge mastery 2/7 --> 10% is enough, nn higher
high surge mastery is only needed when using 2 hand swords

1. Those are nice gloves, but you do realize the whirlwind is not a swordsmanship skill, right?

2. Divine Fury is a passive +7% crit. Definite buy.

3. Even if Parry does not work against bosses, a 13% reduction in hits from melee attacks is IMO definitely worth one skill point. Certainly better than a few % HP of surge of restoration.

4. If you can keep your surges up with 2/7 SM, then you don't do enough damage. With a pair of good Grinders, I kill so many enemies on NM in one hit that I struggle to keep surges up, and I am 7/7 on SM. That said, I would not respec to 7/7, I would probably go 4 or 5.

What counts as swordmanship skills then?

Look under the name of the skill. It will say "Skill groups:". SoJ and Sweeping strike are. Maybe some other stuff I don't care about, red line stuff maybe?

So weird. Ww is a "group attack" skill, which is true, but I'm still using swords! D:
I thought all skills of a swordsman were swordsman skills! D:
xD Fail.
