I don't necessarily agree with tempest if it's purely for farming. Hellfire essentially achieves the same effect but faster. At higher levels with strong equipment you'll really just need something to take down high hp mobs and tempest isn't necessarily the ideal for that. Also, the likelyhood of you being able to survive with 1arcane and no venom armor is pretty slim.

Hellfire is definately a good spell but unless you're willing to spend money on a respec you should avoid putting 10 points into it. This is because the + skill items will not bring skills beyond level 10. Also as the previous poster explained, you will be very squishy running that build without venom armor and only level 1 arcane shield. I have to disagree on the tempest argument since Tempest is an amazing spell for all scenarios.

Tempest is very powerful, my point is that it serves the same function as hellfire just slower. Hellfire will drop an entire room while you're waiting for tempest to hit two guys. If you don't mind standing around watching the enemies die it's fine.

I'm using both Hellfire and Tempest, You can throw one in between the hellfires. Tempest is also better than Hellfire against bosses unless you need ignite.

Here is what I'm rocking. Spectral Curse + Demonspine clears a room like nothing. Arc Legion for the annoying orbiles, hellfire and tempest provide some set it and forget it aoe and arcane shield keeps you beefy.

I'm pure lightning and I have no trouble with any bosses. I killed abby in like 4 seconds with arc legion.

I cannot comment on Hellfire as I've never played a fire evoker. I'll probably respec as a lvl 50 and compare the two in stonehenge leveling runs.
