I read a thread below about rushing.. was this game infected with the same crap? Leveling content a waste of space due to rushing? Is spending time leveling pointless because you can get someone to rush you to higher levels? Does this game have one big server everyone is on, or is it like Diablo where you create games, otherwise you're sitting in a lobby? How is grouping/questing/getting new items?

I'm a bit undecided because I hear really good things AND really bad things.

aight, so basically, you CAN get rushed but its pointless... it doesnt really matter how far in the game your are, but what your lvl is. thebig thing is doing stonehenge, which is decided by your lvl as to the haredness.

noone ever gets rushed, we all walk through the game.
and its not infested by all that d2 crap of hacked/dupes/rushing/powerlvling. its still a glitchy game, but when version 2.0 is released supposedly within the month, a lot of it will be fixed. when you log onto the game, you are in town with everyone else on your server (like useast but its like us - shulgoth which is what most of us play)
anyways, everyone is in towns together (stations in this game) but when you leave town to go into a fighting place, it is only you unless you are in a party or join one. only 5 people can be in a party at a time and people can join and leave freely. theres a new kind of portal in this game like a tp in d2, called a party portal (pp) and when you join a party you can press the button and make a portal directly to your teamate so it is very convienient.

ide say the item system is better than on d2. everyone gets their own drows so no fighting over it. the game isnt as based on cookie cutter chars as it is in d2. a lot of rares / legendarys (one step up from rares) are better than uniques save for like hu's hypershot (most saught after gun in the game)

so its less cookie cutter, more fun =D

ide advise getting it, it is a lot of fun!

How about gearing up? Is there like one set that everyone wears, or is it like D2, where there's like millions of options? In other words, at high levels, most <insert class> are wearing the same thing? What is the currency in the game? I don't mean what does the game use for currency, I mean what is used in trading? Like in D2, gold was useless, it was about runes/SoJ/forum gold/etc.

edit: ok so it's similar to guildwars in that everyone on server is in town, then when you go out it's just your group.

edit2: Does the game require any skill, or just press 1 while strafing left and right to win?

Lots of options, even more than D2. Only thing that is sort of set is weapons, but armors tons of variety, and you're always updating your character as you find the stuff.
You probably saw my thread about the rushing ahahah
It's not like D2, you only get jumped to Temple Station so you can enter the Stonehenge asap (lvl 15 is the minimum). Stonehenge is where the action and the lvling is biggrin.gif
EDIT: Requires judgment and skill. You gotta know when to back off, when to switch weapons, when to just run away, which monster you target first. It's actually really fun, specially in Elite, you've got use judgment a LOT!

People actually use gold as a currency on HGL,.

At high levels, there are some uniques that most people try to get, but, there is rares/legendarys that drop randomly w/ random stats that can be better than those uniques.

There is a demo for HGL that was released a long long time ago, but Idk how up-to-date that demo is. There is a lot of things in HGL now that there wasnt at launch.

demo is horrible.

depends on what you're looking for bro.

if you're looking for an epic mmo a la WoW etc, then this game won't be for you.

If you're looking for a fun, fast-paced, action packed rpg then you'll like it.

I like the fact I can jump in, hop onto the vent server, find some guys that are on and either farm some gear, level, MF, PvP whatever takes my fancy.

palladium (gold) is the currency. so yeah the gold is something, unlike d2 where its like 1mil = 1fg. 1mil here = 1,300 fg on elite (elite is the mode after you beat normal. you can stay on the same char and go to nm (no hell) or make new chars on elite mode which is harder but better drops. elite is also a better pd:fg ratio if you make pd for a living.

its only $20 at gamestop, so even if you dont like it, no big deal.
