I'm new to HGL, in fact i've had it for 1 day. I've leveled up a Marksman to 8 so far and it's pretty fun, it's a lot more like D2 than I originally thought. Which is completely awesome, because D2 rocks, it's just old after beating it a million times on every char and build.



Anyways, a few questions, specifically about difficulties..


Is HGL like D2 in the fact that you start a character on Normal.. beat the game.. then you're upgraded to NM.. and you beat the game again, and upgraded to Elite?

Can items/money be transfered between norm, nm, elite?

Do you have to subscribe to be able to play on elite?

If they are "seperate game modes" or whatever, do the majority of players play elite or normal? I'd hate to start leveling a char up on elite to find that most people play normal.

u beat normal to unlock elite. elite is a seperate mode in which the monsters are harder and have more life. you can not use a char u have already had and use it on elite.
its like starting over again on a harder diff

no u dont need to subscribe to get elite, but you do to get hardcore and hardcore elite

You can just mule or trade in the same mod. Never in different mods.

There are :

Softcore:

"Normal" normal
"Normal" nightmare

and ( Elite just avaiable if you have done "Normal" normal allready once!)

"Elite" normal
"Elite" nightmare


and Hardcore.. also each mod avaiable , but hardcore just for subscriber.






The difference:

"Normal" normal/nightmare :

Monsters are not specially stronger. Still its not easy^^


"Elite" normal/nightmare :

Monsters are stronger and more life. More bosses etc too. ( also means bether experience because more monsters and bosses, and bether item drops!)


and Hardcore : Die once, create a new char..

No. You beat norm once, THEN you can upgrade to elite, you dont have to beat nightmare too. But you ahve to create a new char and activate "Elite mod"

There are newcommers who havnt finished normal normal yet, so they cant play elite. Guess there are more normal players, due to the reason there are also many people who ahvnt beated normal normal yet.. others just play it, GOD understand why??? ( no)

Even. If you wouldnt have to play normal normal before elite normal, woudlnt make fun because if you are new, and take elite mod, you die because you've got no plan what to do, and thing : UGH! this game sux..See it as a training before, to learn more about the game, chars, maps, enemys, etc.. then go to elite.. more fun..
