add attack str to guardian shield attacks? or are the attack str/dmg amounts for shield skills based solely off of the shield stats?

should have been more specific. do mods on any of the other armors/weapon enhance my shield skill attacks?

Hi Chief. No, mods from your weapon do not enhance your shield attack strengths. Only (as of now of course, who knows what the future holds) your guardian skills may enhance your shield's attack strength (ie, Shield Bash, Shield Turn, Shield Master). And of course it doesn't work the other way around iether. For example, if your shield has shield penetration attribute or addition stun attack strength, that only applies to shield skill groups, and not for your weapon (ie, sword, mace, guns, etc).

Btw, have you tried using a spectral splash shield + shield turn? When it phases, it does an insanely amount of damage. Perhaps it's bugged...against NM Shulgoth, once it gets phased he dies within seconds.

I only use spectral splash lol. can't really see using anything else. maybe fire splash, but really nn.

and I figured as much about shield being stand alone, but was hoping.

yea fire shield would be the only other option for PVE, when farming at highest lvl monsters.

but for PVP u might want to find shield with higher stun str ?
