i was wondering if anyone could explain to me what the gameplay of hellsgate is like and what kind of game it compares to

WELCOME


Hellgate London is a fast-paced Action based 3D RPG (or mmorpg)

The game play is different depending on what character you are. I personally play a guardian (tank with a sword!) and for me the gameplay is similar to most 2D rpgs - Running around chopping etc, however there are far more dynamics (because it is in 3D).

If you choose a marksman, you will play it similarly to an FPS (though it does not have as much detail as fps's)

I hate comparing hellgate to other games, because its not like any other game but the concept is similar to diablo - That is you do quests, recieve items, use stat points and skills to build a character however it is executed very differently to D2 and is far more diverse

pvp hasn't really come to life yet either which is kinda nice as everyone ATM is very concentrated on grouping and mfing/lvling/questing so the experience has a much friendlier climate.

my 4-5 d2 accounts are going to expire soon and i couldn't care less

edit: patch 1.0 is coming soon and the new content looks awesome
