Is the game still free? I saw it for sale in the store the other day and became curious to what is still going on with it.

u buy it in store, free to play on net, but u can subscribe also, and get benefits.

You can download the game, but you have to buy a key in order to create an account. If you have a friend with an account, you are able to download the game and use his account, without buying the game discs.

Yeah once you install you don't need the disc anymore (if you're playing online, that is.)

You still need it for single player.
