you kill a bunch of monsters and pick up the ingredients
then buy the recipes from the npc
then right click the recipes you bought, drag the required ingredients into the create box, then make them

i believe the npc is alex and you will find him at the entrance to the level.

you'll need 9 containers from him to make the 3 generators it's prety straightforward just place the different color parts to make the canister things in them and then right click the blueprint thing to finish.
