http://forums.hellgatelondon.com/showthread.php?t=60259 (latest post about stonehenge with the upcomming changes).

So personally im been breaking my head of how i will skill my evoker when the update hits.

What are your thoughts about the class changes involving the Evoker / Guardian (wich come with 1 free re-skill and one for subscribers).

Anyone figured what kinda path hes going to take? headscratch.gif

For my guardian, I won't change too much.

this is what I feel is the core skills and ideal levels that I like to play with.  I left 10 skills unused.  This would be for my sc norm char, so I will probably finish out by adding 1-2 in grand aura, then the rest in sword of reckoning and shield turn.

for HCE, I will be maxing aura of defense.  I will also put a couple into aura of deflection on HCE too.  Comes in handy.  Once I have end-game gear figured out and I feel that my characters can handle offense over defense, this will change a bit.

I wonder if I can save my respec for a later date lol?

It's a really REALLY tough call. I have 5 points saved up at the moment, and I'm hoping to get to 50 (an additional 9 points) before 1.0 hits. My plan is to spread the points out and just see how all the changes effect the skills, then respec.

However, based on purely reading about the changes (I haven't had a chance to go on test and try them out since they re-re-balanced), I will probably be doing a fire/bone spec. I was planning on running heavy lightning, but tempest has been altered too heavily for my taste, and just does pitiful damage. The changes to flameshards (ie., multiple shards in 1 target = more damage + higher ignite attack) and the extreme upgrade to hellfire lead me to believe this will be a very useful damage base. Now that they're finally fixing boneshards and skullsplitter...well...skullsplitter has the potential to be my favorite spell if they fixed it how I believe they did. Stun + ignite is much more attractive to me (now that they're damage is on par with lightning) than shock could ever be. They were originally going to decrease the cool down on swarm, but since they didn't I think poison is out.

The only thing I'm really on the fence about now is Lash (increased dmg) + Lash Mastery (increased dmg/radius) + Spectral curse (increased dmg/cast while run/increase radius). I dunno...so many new options.

As far as guardians go, I think the AoDefense nerf was needed (even though everyone is whining) and I'm VERY curious to see how much of a buff AoRenewal got. I'm dissapointed to see PoRetribution didn't get a buff (the damage is negligable and the phase LENGTH makes it useless). Very happy to see taunt line got fixed, as it can be very useful when it actually works. I've always wanted to build an AoRenewal, and hopefully with the buff it got that will be viable in nightmare and beyond. My guard's only at 35 though, so I should be able to stockpile a few points and test the changes before I respec.

The respec comes in the form of an ITEM that can be used one time. It can be saved as long as you like, and will never disappear. I would HIGHLY suggest, that anyone who is THINKING about build an evoker or guardian roll them up before this patch hits, so that later on in their life you can respec if you like. No one knows if respecs will ever be available again.

Any known level req to get the respec, or could I just take a char to Holborn and call it good?

Hm good arguements now im rubbing my head even more laugh.gif

Personally i really hate that you cant re-skill when you want, takes the fun away.
Takes to long to lvl then at 40-50 , damn i have to re-do it all...

Personally i liked the Neocrons re-skill system alot (5 points each pill you take wich takes like 15 min, and you lose exp each time you take one).

Although most people would put their arguement of 'then their are less the same cookie cutter builds' but dont really like that point of view.

Cause if you lvl'ed a 50 evoker , whos serieusly gonne remake one to 50? Not many thats for sure.

I disagree with that. I like this game a lot. With that said, I plan on making different types of the same char. Maybe I am just accepting of the way rpg's used to be, but I find only having 1 guardian that I can make into any other build, even if it takes me a full night, is not for me. And maybe I am prejudiced into the fact that if I want to take the time to level a new char, others should too lol.

Well actually i enjoy taking my time with a char aswell, but only in mmorpgs.
In games with content you replay all the time i expect some more freedom in that mather, but thats just my take.

Well suppose it wont change so better plan it carefully then happy.gif

I am wondering if part of their plan is to offer occasional respecs with balancing so they can kinda appease both sides.

I do understand your point, but I suppose it really just comes down to expectations. And I just never expected respecs.

Can't wait t see how my guardian will be. The new aura's will be nice. Only wish the Aura of Salvation had more worth. It is not until late NM that resistances really seem to come into play.

My evoker is relativly new on elite now, il try to get em as high as possible before the updates actually hit.

Myself knowing il probarly take a break from my evoker so i can see some input on the forums happy.gif before skilling.

I just cant live with a build thats not near perfect, i know its annoying biggrin.gif

On a sidenote if you play on test server do you get a xx lvl if you start?
Or is it the same exp/lvl like regular gaming that leaves out testing?
