I'm only looking for advice from people who know what they're talking about and have a Guardian of their own.

I'm working on building an elite shield guardian, and don't know which skills are worth maxing and which I should just put one point into.

This is what I have in mind for lvl30:

Is it really worth maxing AoDefense or would it be better putting 1 point into it and using the other 9 points elsewhere.

I will be using Shield Turn as my main skill, with a sword equipped to attack between turns.
SoR/AoP will be used just for bosses, so I don't see myself spending more than 1 point on each of them
For stats, I will be using enough Will to equip my items, and the rest will go into Stam

Max AOD good choice !

AoD is for sure the safest.

But is is it worth maxing for the extra 9% per demon (up to 8 demons)? I'm not looking for input on which aura to use; I'm wondering if the points could be better used elsewhere.

At lvl1, with 8 demons in your aura, you get a 72% increase.
At lvl10, with 8 demons in your aura, you get 144% increased defense.

That's not exactly a huge jump for 9 skill points.

I say yes. not enough other skills are worth it. and when surrounded in NM that added defense is nice.

and remember, the goal of defense is to max DR. So depends on that I would think.

and AoD is ur main aurora, just switch to AoP when monsters are stunned/between fights

and yes, maxed AoD is nice for sure. the more deff the better pluss u can rely more on AA items than +deff items since u get so nice deff anyways u will get more life to.

As I've stated in another post here, yea AoD is a great aura. Makes my hardcore elite guardian a breeze to play with. Against syd, it was a joke and he virtually couldn't hurt me. HOWEVER, it's evident this aura is overpowered and will be rebalanced in 1.0 patch.

after 1,0 u get lower deff%, but aurora will scale with lvl, dno what that will do to the effect tho.
