at least until it failed massively

Was a attempt to make a random generating game, wich failed quite badly.
Disapointed me at every single aspect.

Why does everyone seem to hate this game? Even people who never played it badmouth it, and that's just stupid. Also seems that if you DON'T say "FAIL" about HGL then you're dumb - like it's the "cool" opinion to have. Whatever - I like it, I like playing it, even if I'm the only person on D2jsp that does. It's much better than D2, which is so old now it's I have lots of fun with augging, enjoy NOT losing exp if I happen to die, and it's nice to know that there aren't a bazillion people using hacks in the game.

That said, I am really looking forward to D3, and never thought that HGL was supposed to be any sort of "D3 wannabe" - from what I've heard, D3 and HGL are too different to invite all the comparisons that are floating around. A friend of mine went to the Blizzcom convention and said it was in no way similar to HGL.

Just my 2 cents on the subject.

IDK why, but this site attracts those types, as well as the little kids who want to be able to cuss, be nasty and racist without detriment.

I agree, i like HGL very much, and play as long as we remain online.
I never considered it a "d2 successor" either, and feel it was a good game in its own right.
FSS did indeed fail at managing this game, but succeeded in a creative new take on game mechanics (rpg/fps/hack&slash mix, brilliant!)

I wouldn't let the everyday jsp troll get you you.
D3 is a ways off, so enjoy HGL as long as you can! I will be picking up Sacred 2 to play online too while we wait...

i wouldnt say placebo...most people dont like a bugged, repetitive, with no optimization at all game, with very few build/items options
im only playing hgl cause im waiting for sacred 2, cant wait to finally end my ties in hgl, im fed up with doing the same shit every single motherfucking time and seeing the same tilesets over and over again
thats my opnion, and i DO have sub status, stonehenge can keep you interested for 2 weeks - 1 month, after that its repetitive just like everything
no optimization = having a cutting edge, NASA computer and having to run the shitty game hgl is on low-mid, now THAT, is bullshit
