Nah, not needed to enjoy the game. Most of the farmable boss's and best weaponry are non SUB. So you will still be able to own and enjoy yourself without subscription.

ok, last few questions:

will i be able to play with subscriber players? and if i happen to get the subscription (highly unlikely) and then after a few months, i slow down playing, but i still play. will i be able to cancel it, but keep my charaters and stuff?

I dont know about keeping the stuff, but yea you can play with subs all the time. You can cancel easily by going to the site, i myself am a subscriber so i do not know about keeping the stuff, you get an extended stash and im sure whats down there will not be able to be moved when you stop paying, but when you do again im sure it will be accessible again.

ok, im getting this game for my bday in 5 days, i dunno about the sub tho. i want it, but i dont know if i will still want to play the game as much in a few months, but i will still occasionaly play it, so i dont want to have to pay 10 bucks a month for a game i play like 2 hours a week
